Energy -Brainstorm as many things you can about Energy! (Create Web)

Energy -Energy Pictures- Sort them the pictures into meaningful categories to you. -DO NOT Glue to pictures down in your notebook at this time!

Energy(THINK, PAIR, SHARE) -Explain the Sorting of your objects into the categories that you did.

Energy(THINK, PAIR, SHARE) -Did you hear anything from anyone in the class that makes you change your mind about your where you placed your objects into the categories you did?

Energy -Now you can only use five categories. -Now go back to the objects and put them into the categories you BEST think they go.

Energy(Final Question What type of Energy do you use the most? Why?

DAY 2 Energy

Stations

Station Discussion -Discuss observations in each station! -Share predictions of the stations names!

Energy Stations Specific Names a. (Heat) – dark & light t-shirt, 2 thermometers, heat lamp. b.(Solar) – solar panel, flashlight or calculator (solar panel) c.(Chemical) – battery and flashlight, plant and light, muffin (or food item) d.(Electrical) – fan plugged into wall, pencil sharpener, hot pot e.(Mechanical) – pepper grinder, tongs, old pencil sharpener, sifter, crank flashlight, scissors, hole punch, stapler, staple remover

Day 3 Energy Group Project Presentation -Each pair will be assigned one of the 5 main energy types. -Research that form of energy -Create 2 Slides -1st slide all information about that form Energy (Facts, properties, etc.) -2nd slide provide REAL WORLD examples of that Energy being USED!!! -MUST BE UPLOADED TO MY WEBSITE BY THE END OF THE PERIOD!!!! -Presentation of Energy and Information Monday!
