ABOUT OCE Established by the Ontario government in 1987 Created to bridge the “innovation gap” and create partnerships between Ontario industry and academic researchers. OCE is part of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE), a client-focused, province-wide innovation network

WHAT OCE DOES Invests in Ontario’s tomorrow Drives the development of Ontario’s economy by helping create new jobs, products, services, technologies, and companies Leverages the full capacity of Ontario’s research institutions to help technology-based companies commercialize new products and services Supports campus-based entrepreneurship training and infrastructure Leverages investments from industry and other partners Offers tailored programs that are responsive, flexible and adaptive In 2014/15, invested $32.6 million in 614 research, commercialization, and talent projects

INNOVATION PROCUREMENT With MGCS, develop a model for collaboration, build capacity for innovation adoption and procurement by the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Public and Private Sector partnerships – early market engagement Confront and overcome barriers to adoption – technology, culture, change management Focus on outcomes – user benefits, cost efficiencies, economic development

ADVANCINGEDUCATION Up to $250,000 funding allocation per demonstration project Approximately five demonstration projects will be funded per Round (2 Rounds) 1:1 matching required on direct project costs (combination of cash and in-kind; minimum 25 per cent cash; preference given to projects with strong cash contributions) Funds will support eligible demonstration project costs at the company, at the public education organization(s), and collaborating academic institution(s) as applicable and based on a reimbursement model Funding will support projects up to two years in duration and spanning two academic years
