The Olympic Games are considered to be the world's foremost sports competition with more than 200 nations participating.

The Games provide a major opportunity for the host city and country to showcase themselves to the world.

But the most common example is Athens in 2004, whose facilities are now decaying and whose cost overrun of 60 percent was a major contributor to Greece's current financial troubles.

There have never been any Olimpic Games, nor Football World Cups or European Championships haled in Hungary.

Hungary couldn't organise any of these games for several reasons, but we can facilitate for water sports.

The 2010 European Aquatics Championships were held from 4-15 August 2010 in Budapest and Balatonfüred, Hungary. It was the fourth time that the city of Budapest has hosted this event after 1926, 1958 and Events in swimming, diving, synchronised swimming and open water swimming were scheduled.

The championship provided a job opportunity for many people. Just like in case of the Olimpics, which which provide work for at least 7-8 years. Unfortunatelly, it won’t last forever.

The trouble is,that after the 7-8 years, the work is done. For example, the stadium or the olimpic village were build and finished. Many building materials were needed and production of the factories grew, but not any more. Meanwhile, they highly polluted the environment, as well.

The original budget for the Games was £2.4 billion, but this was increased almost fourfold to about £9.3 billion in 2007.

The GLA (Greater London Authority) is working to deliver the Mayor’s objectives for the London 2012 Games, and ensuring that hosting the Games brings the best possible benefits for Londoners.

The ODA (Olympic Delivery Authority) is now transforming the apartments in the Olympic Village into thousands of new homes, removing partitions and fitting inkitchens.

London economic after-effect But there are also huge benefits from tourism as London's new-found status as an Olympic city draws in new visitors from overseas who then go on to visit other parts of the UK.

Style: London The London Olympics has created a kind of style around the world. Everybody was burning in the Olympic fever. So, production and sales went up.

The GLA is contributing £925 million to the Olimpic Delevery Authority.

This money will be spent on the regeneration, infrastucture and facilites that will contiune to benefit Londoners for generations to come.
