Front Cover On the center of the front cover of your notebook write the following information, so that it looks like this: Your Full Name Honors Chemistry Period Example: Kara Rainey Honors Chemistry Period 9 Later you may have a chance to go over it with black marker.
Inside Cover On the top left corner of the inside cover of your notebook write the following information, so that it looks like this: Your Full Name Chemistry Period Example: Kara Rainey Chemistry Period 9
The beginning pages On the first few pages of your notebook will be the score sheet. The score sheet is where you will keep track of your scores for all of the notebook checks. (If you do not have a score sheet you will not get a grade) You will update the score sheet on Fridays before the notebook check. Generally, notebooks will be checked every Friday.

Basic Guidelines -The notebook must be 70 Pages and spiral bound. -Ms. Rainey has provided your first notebook. When you fill up this notebook it is your responsibility to replace it (You must buy a new notebook). -PAGES ARE NEVER REMOVED FROM THE INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK. -THE INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK IS FOR CHEMISTRY ONLY. -Bring your notebook everyday!
Basic Guidelines -There is No Excuse for not having a notebook at any point during class. -You are responsible for making up anything in your notebook that you may have missed due to an absence. My website is a wonderful place to look for this information. -If you lose your notebook it is your responsibility to replace it and all of it’s contents.

The Next Pages The interactive notebook has a basic format that you must follow all of the time. You will use the LEFT & RIGHT PAGES for specific items. The next page contains the format example. You will copy this example down into your notebook. This will be used as your reference for the basic format.
The Left Page Includes: Top(IN)- Date, Warm-Up Bottom(OUT)- Reflection (Completed at the end of class; last 10 minutes) The Right Page Includes: Top- Homework assignments, reminders, etc. Middle (rest of page)- Class work-(Through) such as: Labs, Cornell Notes, problem sets, etc…
First Entry The following slide contains the set up that you will see, on the screen, each day when you walk into class. During the first five to seven minutes of class you will answer the warm up on the top left page Then set up the rest your right and left pages Remember to write down everything including homework and classwork. Doing this is required and it will keep you organized.
