How To Manually Modify Lab Data Mark Breunig 12/17/10

1.Open the database and log in. 2.Select “Access Options” from the Access menu

3.Activate “Display Document Tabs” And “Display Navigation Pane” 4. Click “OK” ***REMEMBER – YOU MUST CHANGE THESE SETTINGS BACK WHEN FINISHED***

5.Close the database 6.Open the database and log in. ANY CHANGES YOU MAKE ARE DONE SO AT YOUR OWN RISK

7. Click on the navigation pane to expand it

“Sample Analysis” and “Sample_Results” are the two tables you will need to open (double click)

Table: Sample_Analysis Find the “ID_LABFRM” on the table “Sample_Analysis”that matches the “ID_LABFRM” associated with the labsheet (see next page for example of where to find this ID) you wish to modify data for. To remove an ANALYSIS – simply select the row on the table “Sample_Analysis” you wish to remove, and press the DELETE key on your keyboard. Table: Sample_Results You will have to delete ALL the pCODE associated with the analysis. That means delete every record (“row”) that has the ID_LABFRM and pCODE you wish to remove. The more samples there were in the batch, the more records you will need to delete. IN ORDER TO REMOVE AN ANALYSIS FROM A LAB SHEET

To select a row, click here

“ID_LABFRM”

CHANGE THESE SETTINGS BACK TO HOW THEY WERE ORIGINALLY – VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Final Step: Check the lab form to make sure the changes you made look ok
