TSDL Project Update Continued support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to assist State and Local Education Agencies in establishing valid and reliable data links between teachers and students Current states include Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio Increased availability of targeted technical assistance and materials to additional states and districts Expansion of TSDL website at

TSDL Key Questions Has input from teachers, administrators and education partners been included in the TSDL development process? For what purposes will the TSDL be used? Who in your agency has been assigned 0wnership in data governance for the TSDL? Are there unique identifiers for teachers and for students used consistently in the data systems?

TSDL Key Questions Have common course codes been established and are they being used for scheduling K-12? Is data on student enrollments and withdrawals by course period accurate and current? Is data on teacher assignments by course period accurate and current? Have business rules been established including definitions for roles such as Teacher of Record and Contributing Professional?

TSDL Key Questions Have the data elements needed to meet the TSDL purposes been identified and are they currently available? Have the required data extraction business rules, tools and processes been put in place? Has a roster verification process been developed and implemented for teachers and principals? Have TSDL policies and practices been included in the agency professional development and communication plans?
