Year 6 Meeting Tuesday 14 th April

Summer Term Topic Skin Deep – Science and Literacy based Scientist biography Studying Microbes. Looking at the Great Plague and discussing the spreading of the disease. Diary and letter writing regarding the plague. Children will use I Movie to create a film demonstrating the importance of hand washing for the NHS.

Other Curriculum Topics Numeracy – Maths skills and investigations will continue every day either as stand alone lessons or through our Skin Deep topic. Literacy/Welsh – Continuing to assess the children in Oracy, Reading and Writing as part of their end of year assessment. P.E – Children have had the opportunity to take part in a number of Cricket sessions with guidance our coach Mr Morgan. Throughout the Summer term children will be introduced to the rules and plays of Baseball. We also hope to have the opportunity to take the children over to Heath Park to play on a full sized pitch. Indoor PE – Continue with developing the children gymnastic skills. We are hoping to get Miss Taylor who is trained in performing arts and dance to take some aerobic and Zumba sessions.
