What Kind of Giver Am I? Some givers are a hindrance to the truth Other givers are a help
Some Christians Give In But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. (Lk. 8:13) Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. (Jas. 1:13-15) No one has to give in. (1 Cor. 10:12-13)
Some Christians Give In for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica--Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. (2 Tim. 4:10) Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 3) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Cor. 15:58)
Some Christians Give Out not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; (Rom. 12:11) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Gal. 6:9) who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Tit. 2:14) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, (Heb. 12:1)
Some Christians Give Up Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. (Luke 8:14) You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? (Gal. 5:7) From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. (John 6:66)
Some Christians Give Up For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Pet. 2:20-22) But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. (Heb. 10:39)
Some Christians Give Criticism Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (Matt. 7:12) The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, “Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!” But wisdom is justified by her children.” (Matt. 11:19) Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 2:3-5)
Some Christians Give Little Concern "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Behold and see If there is any sorrow like my sorrow, Which has been brought on me, Which the LORD has inflicted In the day of His fierce anger. (Lam. 1:12) He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" (Matt. 16:15) I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Rom. 1:14-16)
Some Christians Give Abundantly And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. (2 Cor. 8:5) and they spoke to Moses, saying, "The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded us to do." (Ex. 36:5) So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. (Rom. 1:15) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Gal. 2:20)
