Haiti A Dying Country
Earthquake On January 12 th, 2010 a major earthquake struck Haiti. It was rated a 7.0 on the Richter scale. It killed over one-hundred thousand of people in southern Haiti. It struck Haiti at about 5 pm. About three million people were effected. Hospitals were packed elbow to elbow with people with broken bones and amputated parts of their body.
Impact on Haiti Debris has gotten into the rivers and polluted the drinking and bathing water. People are drinking the dirty water and are dying. There are about the same amount of death s from the water as the earthquake
Water Comprising of over 70% of the Earth, water is undoubtedly the most precious of all recourses. Although we all recognize the fact that water provides us with life, we take it for granite. In Haiti clean drinking water is almost gone. It is being polluted by waste from humans and other animals. People sometimes wash dishes in the water that they just used the restroom
Impact on Haiti People are dying every day from polluted drinking water. The waste in the water makes them have diarrhea, eventually they lose all the waste in their body and they die. People even bath and wash their animals in the rivers
Help For Haiti Many people are trying to help Haiti now when it needs it the most. Since the earthquake, Haiti has lost food and the little bit of clean drinking water they had. There are organizations everywhere trying to help the country of Haiti. Some are getting money for filters and others are getting money for food, water, and shelter. Whatever they are using the money for, I’m glad they are helping.
Help for Haiti (con.) Even the people in the White House are helping out with the cause. Barrack Obama has gave Haiti enough money to buy food for a lot of people. Some companies are trying to raise money for solar powered and in home filters. Some celebrities are trying to help too. One of the biggest benefits was made by George Clooney. It just goes to show that everyone cares about Haiti.
Impact on Haiti People in Haiti are receiving money to pay for food, water, and medical care. Many people aren’t just getting money, they are going to Haiti itself and helping out. There is almost enough money to pay for filters. People are actually trying to make filter STRAWS!!
Conclusion People in Haiti are doing there best to clean up their country. They are getting money, clean water, and filters to provide it. They are doing a lot better than they were a couple of weeks ago and there are a lot of people to thank for it. Thank you for reading I hope you learned something.
