Netiquette and Online Safety By: H F

Netiquette Netiquette is the do’s and don’ts of the internet. Basically netiquette is the rules of online communication. Netiquette was created to help kids and adults stay safe when communicating online on blogs and chat rooms. The “manners” of the Internet.

Some Rules of Netiquette!! Respect people’s privacy. Follow the same standard behaviors that you have at home. Keep flame wars under control. (Flame wars are arguments between people because of a certain subject) Be forgiving to other peoples mistakes.

More rules of Netiquette! Avoid writing s in all capital letters. IT LOOKS LIKES YOUR SHOUTING! Remember that comments you post on a blog, or website is a always there. You never know who's reading it or who may copy and spread it around.

Online Safety  The Online safety rules tell you not to give away any personal information like your address, telephone number, and your name.  Do not respond to mean or aggressive s or blogs.  Never send a picture of yourself.

Some rules of Online Safety Never agree to meet some one in person. If you have to, make sure it is a public place and bring your parents. Tell your parents if something makes you feel uncomfortable. Talk with your parents so you can set up rules for going online.

Netiquette and Online Safety!  Both Netiquette and online safety were created to make sure kids stay safe when surfing the web.  They both have similar rules.  The rules they have also apply to the real world too!!

Thank you for watching my presentation!!! Remember to stay safe when your on the internet!!!!!
