A mess… “ Analyse the concept Airborne Capability and investigate to what degree such a capability can enhance operational and tactical levels of armed forces’ operations. Describe an airborne unit consisting of a ground combat unit, a transport helicopter unit and a combat helicopter unit as one organized unit or, alternatively, as separately organized units. Investigate both the potentials and possible limitations involved in different alternatives -- and recommend one.”

Formulate the problem Generate alternatives Analyse the alternatives Evaluate the alternatives Recommend/ implement an alternative SA

Recommend/ implement an alternative Analyse the alternatives Evaluate the alternatives Generate alternatives Formulate the problem Find parameters and parameter conditions. Adjust them. Assess all pairs of parameter conditions. Synthesise an internally consistent outcome space. Use multiple drivers to scrutinise and adjust the solution space. MA

SA loves MA MA supported SA in an excellent way With MA we managed to combine both quantitative and qualitative information when we created alternatives MA was a very good help in preparing war games MA helped us to clearly see what we didn’t know MA handles uncertainties by making it possible to examine a large solution space The MA fields are databases
