INTRODUCTION Team games were conducted on the school ground for Std. VI,VII,VIII & IX. Students were divided house-wise in four teams. The teams played the traditional game like kabaddi. We have prepared a PowerPoint on Traditional games of India.

Lagori, also known as lingocha, pitto or Satoliya (Rajasthan) is a popular game in India involving a ball and a pile of flat stones, generally played between two teams in a large outdoor area. A member of one team (the seekers) throws a soft ball at a pile of stones to knock them over. The seekers then try to restore the pile of stones while the opposing team (the hitters) throws the ball at them. If the ball touches a seeker, he is out and his team continues without him. But a team member can always safeguard himself by touching the opposite team member before the ball hits him.

Kabaddi is a contact sport that originated in Ancient India. Kabaddi is an umbrella term which encompasses various forms of the game including International rules Kabaddi, and the Indian Kabaddi styles – Sanjeevani, Gaminee, Amar and Punjabi.Kabaddi also encompasses similar sports known by their regional names, such as hadudu in Bangladesh, baibalaa in Maldives, chedugudu in Andhra Pradesh, sadugudu in Tamil Nadu and hututu in Maharashtra. Kabaddi is the national game of Bangladesh and also the state game of the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Punjab. India is the most successful team on the world stage, having won every World Cup and Asian Games title so far, in both men's and women's categories.

Kho-Kho The Kho-Kho game is an Indian sport commonly played in local areas, schools and colleges around the country. When it comes to Kho-Kho history, every Indian knows that the game was known to be played since the earliest of times. It is played on a rectangular court, between two teams of twelve players each, of which 9 take the field and 3 are reserves. Kho-Kho is a great test of the participants’ physical fitness, strength, speed and stamina and dodging ability.. In ancient Kho-Kho history, there were no rigid rules and regulations for playing the game. The Kho-Kho rules were first framed in the early 1900's.

IN ALL GAMES TWO TEAMS ARE INVOLVED. ALL THE THREE ARE OUTDOOR GAMES. THESE THREE GAMES ALL PLAYED IN TEAMS. THESE GAMES ARE PLAYED BY BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS.
