Moving to and From Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland Grade 3 Integrated Curriculum 2012

Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world today, and its population keeps growing. Why do people want to move to or from this city in the Valley of Mexico? Read more to find out.

Much of Mexico is rural; many people live in the countryside and work on farms. Some families have enough land to grow food and sell some of the extra at the market.

However, many families do not own land or can not produce enough food to feed their entire family. These farmers go to work on other large farms and might move from farm to farm looking for work. Often, work is hard to find.

Sometimes, children in the family go to work on the farms to help support their family. The schools in the countryside do not have the same resources as schools in other areas of the country. Some children have to walk long distances to school. Others cannot go to school regularly.

Mexico City is the largest business center in the country of Mexico. There are millions of jobs in factories and offices. People move to the city to find jobs.

Mexico City is a cultural center. Museums, theatres, and beautiful architecture attract visitors from all over the world. People living in Mexico City enjoy statues, monuments, and murals as they walk down the streets.

Entertainment is also a thriving industry in Mexico City. With some of the largest stadiums in the world, sporting events are especially popular. People move to Mexico City to enjoy the art and events available in the city.

Many people work as street vendors selling goods in stalls and markets on the streets. Juice vendors and fruit stands selling fresh fruit flavored with lime or chiles are very popular and an important part of city life.

Schools in the city are also attractive to families. Many people move to the city so their children can get a good education. In the city, more students have access to schools. Students studying electricity

The population of Mexico City has grown tremendously in recent years and continues to grow. This has brought many problems to the city.

The number of people driving cars in the city has made traffic a terrible problem. The number of cars combined with the geography of Mexico City has also caused a horrible pollution problem.

The Valley of Mexico is surrounded by mountains. The smog created by all of the cars in the city is trapped by these mountains and has nowhere to go. Many people suffered health problems and had to leave the city.

With the increase in population, housing has also become a problem. Many families who once enjoyed the open space of the countryside are now crowded apartments or temporary homes. Finding a nice, comfortable home can be a challenge. Photo by Kokorochi Construction of new apartment buildings

There are many reasons for people to move to Mexico City. It is a center of business as well as education and culture. There are also many reasons to move from Mexico City. The increase in population has caused many problems. Families all over the world make decisions about where to live.
