GENERAL INFORMATION What is our aim? This is the national elite championship. To select National Team Maintain KSA National Ranking system. The details are as follows : Date: March 2016 Time: 18March 2016 – 08:00 till late (CHILDREN AND DISABLED DIVISIONS)- WEIGH IN FOR CHILDREN / CADETS AND JUNIORS WILL BE ON THURSDAY 16h00 till 19h00 19 March 2016 – 08:30 - till late (CADETS AND JUNIORS) -WEIGH IN FOR Cadets and Juniors WILL ALSO BE ON FRIDAY FROM 15H00 TILL 18H00 Note: All Athletes from Saturdays competition can also weigh in on THURSDAY between 16h00 till 19h00(instead of Friday) Athletes found to be outside of their weight category will be Fined or Disqualified – The Fine to be moved to another division is R 250,00 per Athlete per Division Venue: Tongaat Indoor Sports Hall – TONGAAT - Durban, KZN Participation Fee: R per individual category, R per team event Spectators: R30.00 under 18 years/ Children and R50.00 Adults Closing date for entries: 11 March NO LATE ENTERIES WILL BE ACCEPTED Entry fees must be deposited into KSA account. Who will be eligible to participate? 1. Individual kata and Kumite Divisions: All top 4 athletes per division selected by provinces 2. Team Kata: All provinces are allowed to enter 2 team katas per category 3. Provincial selected athletes mentioned above must be Elite athletes, including athletes living with disabilities Closing date for entries: 11 March Entries have to be entered by Provinces. A hard copy and proof of payment must be e- mailed to the Championship Director Sensei Leonardo Ciutto before the closing Age of athletes will be calculated as the age on 25 October 2016 All athletes must be medically fit before they can be allowed to participate. This is an Official National Elite Event and only registered members from the affiliated provinces may enter
GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP RULES 1. Athletes take part at their own risk. No claim may be made against KSA – WKF or any of the officials officiating on the day of the championship. 2. No late entries will be accepted, provinces must confirm with the Tournament Director prior the closing date to ensure that entries has been received. 3. It is the responsibility of every Provincial Coach to explain the conditions/ rules to each athlete and or parent before entering the championship. 4. Any athlete entered in an incorrect age or weight will be disqualified/ Fined (R 250 per division). Coaches and Team Managers must ensure that correct information is submitted. 5. Any athlete not reporting to his/her floor after 3-call out will be disqualified. 6. WKF rules will apply during the championship. 7. Athletes must use WKF spec’d Protective gear. Breast protectors and body protectors are compulsory for female & Male competitors. Mouth guards, red/blue mitts, foot and shin guards are also compulsory. 8. Kata Rules: 7- 9yrs – 1 kata all the way through yrs- MUST DO 2 KATAS: -1st kata can be repeated up until Medal Rounds -2nd kata – MUST CHANGE KATA FOR MEDAL BOUTS 11-13yrs – Must perform 3 KATAS -1ST Kata – for the first 2 Rounds -2nd Kata – from the 3rd Round until the MEDAL BOUTS -3rd Kata – for the MEDAL BOUTS 14yrs and up WKF Rules Apply- Must change your kata in every round. Coaches: 1. Only the appointed coaches from each provinces may coach an athlete from his/ her province(5 Coaches per province). 2. Only coaches wearing their full provincial tracksuit will be allowed to coach. Those wearing only tracksuit top or trouser/ Jeans or Protea track suit wont be allowed on the floor. 3. WKF rules(latest edition) on coaching must be strictly adhered to and non compliance to the rule and regulation disciplinary steps may be taken. Team Managers: 1. Team Managers must wear their official Provincial Attire (Navy blue blazer, white shirt, tie, gray pants, black shoes & socks) 2. Team Managers are not allowed in competition area
