J CONNECT NANOBYTES

COLOUR WEEK We began with the colour “RED”. Fans, strawberries, caps and roses were made. The real treat of the day was the story of “RED RIDING HOOD” narrated with puppets. Bright and bold yellow was our next chosen colour. The children used it to make their sun, sunflower, school bus and sponge bob activities. A splash of red, blue, green, yellow and other colours added to the fun and excitement of the ‘COLOUR WEEK’. The children participated in several activities during the week. Green and orange were the colours chosen for the second day. The children enjoyed colouring pumpkins and leaf printing. The slide show on the story of the green caterpillar was a major hit with the tiny tots.

COLOUR WEEK “ Pretty pink” and “Dashing purple” were the other colours introduced. We thought it was apt to use the theme “classroom” for the colour blue and the kids busied themselves with activities related to it. On the last day of the week it was wonderful to see the children dressed in different colours ready to line up and form a bright rainbow. A very colourful ending to an eventful week. WHAT WE LEARNT

Read out the COLOUR of each word as quickly as you can. If you say the word instead, then start again. Not so easy is it? Why is it so difficult? Well, because it's the 2 separate halves of your brain work against each other, one trying to process colour information and the other textual data. You are simply giving your brain a hard time by asking it to perform 2 simultaneous kinds of task. Confusing colour chart Contributed by Ansu Issac Kg2 A

Colourful paper umbrella Contributed by Ms Joanita KG 1 B  Trace a circle on a piece of colorful paper.  Cut out the circle. Leave a tiny triangle cut out of the circle....as if there was a very tiny piece of pizza cut out of the circle.  Now fold over the triangle into a triangle fold.  Next fold it back behind the circle...then forward...then back until it looks like picture #5 above.  Now open up the shape to look like picture #6 and glue the 2 sides together.  Let it completely dry and then put a toothpick through the center of the paper to make a beautiful paper umbrella
