WHAT IS A WIKI? An interactive website which YOU can edit YOU can easily add, remove and edit webpage content No HTML knowledge is required Collaborative authoring: a new approach to publishing “Each contributor has an equal ability to add, edit, and remove text. The writing process becomes a recursive task, where each change prompts others to make more changes.” Wiki makes collaboration easy Share ideas Share documents, e.g. pdfs, Word Share resources, e.g. links to useful websites

To foster interaction amongst MapNet members Exchange of ideas, methods, resources, results, know-how MapNet Wiki provides A focal point for MapNet members A means of informal communication A place to deposit and view documents of common interest Anything you think would be appropriate…

MAPNET WIKI FEATURES Security enabled Outside users cannot view the MapNet Wiki You must register to see/edit content Current events page Use to inform others of upcoming events, e.g. conferences, courses Contacts page A list of all MapNet participants History and Recent Changes pages All changes are recorded, including author’s name, date, time Reverting to an earlier version is easy if a mistake is made
