The Systems Model and Communication Information and Communication systems follow the systems model and require inputs, processes, outputs, and feedback. © 2013 International Technology and Engineering Educators Association STEM  Center for Teaching and Learning™ Foundations of Technology

The Systems Model Inputs – What goes into the system. (people, capital, materials, tools, energy, knowledge, and time). Process – All the activities that take place. (Designing, constructing, testing, tweeking, etc.) Output – The results of the system. Information and communication systems can be further broken down into the: PROCESSES OF COMMUNICATION Encoding – Puts message into a transmittable form Transmitting – Sending message over path Receiving – downloads the message Decoder – Changes the message back into a form that we can understand.
