Ms. Grapa 8th Grade Art History Project Spring 2011

Step 1: Why is this important? Prepares me for high school Lets me have some fun Allows me to learn about other artists Makes me feel wealthy!

Step 2 Pick one of the artists at ousartistsgalle ry.com/gallery. html Look at least 5 of their art pieces.

Step 3 Matisse used bright colors His works look very flat because there is little shading. He often used read and blue to as background colors. He depicted women in his works. In this photo, he composed the painting by placing the girl in the right side.

Step 4 Find a photo of your role model to alter!

Step 5 Go to UPLOAD your photo to alter.

Step 6 Explore the picnik options in EDIT and CREATE

Step 7 Save photo by clicking on the SAVE & SHARE button. Load photo into your PowerPoint

Step 8 My photo shows Matisse’s style by using bright colors like he did. It also reduces shadows to create a flat appearance as in his works. It features a red and blue background as Mastisse’s works often did. Like many of his works, it shows a woman. The girl is on the right as in his painting.
