TEAM DISCOVERY ELA 7 with MRS. SAUNDERS ELA 7 is a two period block class which covers both your student’s English 7: Literature and Strategies, as well as English 7: Writing and Composition. As there are two gradebooks, scores will be placed according to content assessed. Occasionally a score will appear in both gradebooks. My My staff website: The Team Discovery website: Our Classes Scholastic.com book order code: L94D3 INFORMATION PAGES FOUND ON THE WEBSITES Weekly Agenda at a Glance: The weekly agenda can be found on the Team Discovery Website, thus allowing parents to view all four Team Discovery Weekly Agendas in one place. My weekly agenda provides an outline of what I expect to cover that week, as well as due dates. This agenda is subject to change dependent on class needs. Daily Notes Calendar: The DAILY NOTES are provided for absent students & for additional clarification. The notes are to help students, and to help parents help their students. Each day’s link will contain the powerpoint notes used in class that day, as well as any handouts or documents I am able to upload. Supply List: contains the list provided to students on the first day of school Independent Reading: explains the Independent Reading requirements and Expectations and contains downloadable bookmarks. ADDITIONAL USEFUL KNOWLEDGE If students are absent, they should: 1. Check the Daily Notes for the days missed. 2. Check the handout file by the door as they enter the class. 3.Speak with Mrs. Saunders before or after school. 7 th Grade Late Work Policy: -Submitted on due date = 100% of credit earned -Submitted late, but prior to Friday cut off date = 75% of credit earned -Submitted after Friday cut off date = no credit A Friday cut off date occurs on the Friday the week after the initial due date. Late and absent assignments are gathered for several weeks while I continue to teach, plan, and score assignments which have been submitted on time. Therefore, you should not expect late work to appear in the gradebook prior to the end of the quarter. If you need confirmation that the assignment has been submitted your student will need to see me before or after school and a confirmation note will be signed. SUPPLY: Required: Recommended: 1 ½ 3 ring binder for ELA only a pocket folder Black or navy blue ink pens binder dividers A ream of lined paper blue highlighter A planner a box of Kleenex for the classroom Highlighters: green, yellow, pink colored pencils
