What is Hemophilia?  Hemophilia is a disorder of your blood- clotting system that makes it hard for you to stop bleeding when you get an open wound.  It also causes you to bleed internally and at the knees, ankles, and elbows.

HOW DO YOU GET IT?  You can only get Hemophilia from your mom if she is a carrier, so it is a sex-linked disease.  Males are more likely to get hemophilia than females because the mom gives the child an X chromosome and hemophilia is attached to the X chromosome.
