What is Hemophilia? Hemophilia is a disorder of your blood- clotting system that makes it hard for you to stop bleeding when you get an open wound. It also causes you to bleed internally and at the knees, ankles, and elbows.
HOW DO YOU GET IT? You can only get Hemophilia from your mom if she is a carrier, so it is a sex-linked disease. Males are more likely to get hemophilia than females because the mom gives the child an X chromosome and hemophilia is attached to the X chromosome.
