Christmas: The Gospel Truth What does Christmas mean to you?

The Fall of Man - sin Matthew 1:21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

The Son of God – perfect savior Luke 1:35 “The angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy child shall be called the Son of God.’”

The Son of God – perfect savior Hebrews 1:1-3a “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature.”

The Birth of God - Immanuel Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, God with us.”

The Birth of God - Immanuel John 1:1, 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

The Way to Salvation - faith Luke 1:50 “And His mercy is upon generation after generation toward those who fear Him.” Acts 10:43 “Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

The Purpose of the Birth - death Luke 2:35 (To Mary) “And a sword will pierce even your own soul- to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” John 12:27 “Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour?’ But for this purpose I came to this hour.”

The Resurrection – rule of the King Luke 1:32-33 “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His Kingdom will have no end.”

The Resurrection – rule of the King Ephesians 1:19-21 “…These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.”

The Good News – love & joy to you Luke 2:10-11 “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people…there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’” John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Flowing of God’s Love
