Use of governmental administrative registers in SN SN have axcess to national registers The Register of Deeds Norwegian Cadastre system real properties, addresses, buildings and cadastral map Income, tax Households and population register Norway digital National geographical infrastructure Data available to the other partners Forestry Farm Register and Register of timber trade and Diverted Forest 3

Forestry properties Up to 2012 the statistics was based on the national Farm register –Administrative register for the agriculture –Only productive forest area –Data quality; from good to more or less poor –Updated only for properties with farmlands In addition the farm register matched – Cadastre –Income, tax –Households and population register –Forest register 4

Census of agriculture 2010 Use of administrative registers and mapping data Updated and more information about all recourses at the agriculture properties GIS-analyse  Digital land resource map - property boundaries  Production level, species of tree, site quality  Procutive forest area –Conifer forest, broadleaved forest and mixed forest  Non productive forest area  Other area (water, mountain etc.) 5

Forestry properties The Farm register are still the core register In addition new properties not existing in the farm New data are matched to the Farm register 6

Results The number of forest properties increased by Mostly small properties Mostly from the northern and western part of Norway Mostly broad-leaved forest New and better statistics on areas Total property area Productive forest and unproductive forest area Other area categories (inland water, wetland, open firm ground etc) Type of forest (conifer, broad-leaved, mixed) 7

Aggregate account of forestry Fuel wood –Estmiated the value of roundwood used as fuelwood (raw wood) Production of fuelwood –NA belong to Nace 02 Revision in 2014 –New internasjonal guidelines, 2008 SNA and ESA

Aggregate account of forestry Fuel wood –Use of fuel wood in small-sized dwellings –Value of roundwood used as fuel wood  NOK 930 million –Value of fuel wood  NOK 2,9 billion –Consequences  Output in forestry increase 25 per cent  Value added increase 34 per cent 9
