Iroquois Meaning The meaning of the Iroquois is Real snakes.

Iroquois Clothing The men wore breechcloths with long leggings made of animal skin. The woman wore wrap around skirts with short leggings made of cloth.

Iroquois Food ◦ They hunted deer and elk. They fished from a river near by. They harvested corn, beans, and squash. They found wild berries and herbs.

Iroquois Housing They lived in longhouses up to hundred feet tall. That was made from bark and grass.

Iroquois Tools They used stone adzes for breaking things. Hand axes for wood working. Flint knives for skinning animals. Wooden hoes for farming.

Iroquois Arts and Crafts They were Known for mask carving used to make masks. They crafted wampum out of white and purple beads. Native beadwork made of beads. Porcupine quillwork made of skinning Porcupine. Wampum belts and they were made of cloth and beads.
