China has a very large part in Korea’s history. The chinese characters have influenced Korea to use their unique characters. This started in 200 B.C.E. Even before that, China has been influencing Korea. In 1895, Japan beat Korea in the Sino-Japan War, stopping chinese influence. Then, Japan beats Russia in another war gaining control over Korea. At the end of World War II, Korea was split into two nations at the 38 th parallel – or 38°N in South Korea became the Republic of Korea. North Korea tries to invade South Korea in 1950, and then they finally make a truce in In 2000, the presidents of both Korean nations met for the first time in 50 years since the truce of the two nations.
