Standard Grade PE FEEDBACK

Learning Outcomes By the end of this lesson you will; By the end of this lesson you will; Know the different ways in which feedback can be given Know the different ways in which feedback can be given Understand why feedback is important Understand why feedback is important

Internal/External Feedback Feedback is information you receive on your performance. There are 2 main types of feedback INTERNAL and EXTERNAL.

Internal/External Feedback For feedback to be effective it needs to be positive. For feedback to be effective it needs to be positive. Positive feedback focuses on what you did well and suggests how further improvements could be made. Positive feedback focuses on what you did well and suggests how further improvements could be made. For this to be most effective it needs to be precise and accurate and given as soon as possible after the activity. For this to be most effective it needs to be precise and accurate and given as soon as possible after the activity.

FEEDBACK When giving feedback, it is important that the right amount is given to the performer. Too much feedback is as unhelpful as too little.

Internal Feedback Internal feedback is sometimes called “kinaesthetic”. The feedback comes from within the performer, this type lets the performer “feel” the movements.

External Feedback External feedback can be passed on in a number of ways VISUALVERBALWRITTEN

What skill do they appear least effective at? 3. Are they more involved in the game in the 1 st half or 2 nd half? CO-OPERATION In many activities you have to co- operate with others while performing. Co-operation also involves observing a partner and recording information. This gives feedback on specific skills.

Co-operation When co-operating as a team you must accept your responsibilities and recognising your role within a team. Discuss other examples!
