Direct Variation Chapter 5 Section 2
Objective Students will write and graph an equation of a direct variation.
Direct Variation A relationship that can be represented by the function in the form y = kx where k does not equal 0 A relationship where the independent variable is effected only by slope (y-intercept is 0) A relationship that can be represented by the function in the form y = kx where k does not equal 0 A relationship where the independent variable is effected only by slope (y-intercept is 0)
Constant of variation It is represented by K It will be the coefficient of the independent variable. It is represented by K It will be the coefficient of the independent variable.
