doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Abstract This document is to describe the proposed Channelization for Chinese 60GHz band and 45 GHz band for aj This contribution has been discussed in CWPAN group Jan 2013 Slide 3Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Background – Chinese 60GHz Spectrum The released 60GHz spectrum in China only has 5GHz bandwidth, corresponding to channel 2 & 3 used in IEEE ad/WiGig. There will be only 2 logic channels available for ad device to formulate networks in China which may limit the performance of ad device 4 USA, Canada, Korea Europe China Japan Australia Jan 2013 Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission 45 GHz spectrum in China – pending for approval After communicating with China Radio Management Authority for a few rounds, CWPAN has submitted the final request for the unlicensed band in GHz for approval (pending for approval) Bandwidth (B 0 ) Transmit mask: Refer to IEEE ad TX power: < +20 dBm (Antenna port) Frequency tolerance: 100×10 -6 Path 45 GHz – about 2.5dB lower than 60GHz: 5 Transmit mask Final Request Initial Request Jan 2013 Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Jan 2013 Slide aj is to define the amendment of / ad to support the operation in Chinese 60GHz band and 45 GHz band Background – aj aj PCP ad STA aj STA 60GHz Scenario: aj (60GHz) aj PHY in 60GHz aj PHY in 45GHz ad PHY aj MAC (amendment to amendment to ad) aj MAC (amendment to amendment to ad) aj Architecture Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Proposed Channelization for 60GHz bands for aj (1/2) Advantage of the proposed channelization for 60GHz bands in China  China only has 5GHz bandwidth available in 59-64GHz  only has two logical channels if only use 2.16 GHz BW  Further divide 2.16GHz band used in ad channelization into two 1.08GHz sub-bands, then it become 6 logical channels: 2 bands with 2.16GHz bandwidth (Channel 2 & 3), 4 bands with 1.08GHz bandwidth (Channel 5, 6, 7, 8) ; 7 Channelization for 60GHz bands in China Jan 2013 Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Proposed Channelization for 60GHz bands for aj (2/2) Support dynamic bandwidth  Capable of supporting wider applications for lower power, e.g. Smart Phone, Tablet etc.  The impact to implementation in RF, Analog baseband is very minimal. It only needs to add to support four more new center frequency in PLL design, a new filter to support 1.08GHz in analog baseband etc ;  The support of dynamic bandwidth in the channelization for China 60GHz bands provides the basis of keeping the interoperability with ad device ; 8 Channelization for 60GHz bands in China Jan 2013 Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Proposed Channelization for 45GHz band (1/2) Three channel bandwidths proposed: 1.08GHz 、 540MHz and 270MHz. A basic diagram is as follows: Slide 9 Jan 2013 Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN

doc.: IEEE /0176r0 Submission Proposed Channelization for 45GHz band (2/2) A minimum of 270MHz channel bandwidth can be used as a fundamental channel, with a maximum of 12 independent channels available. With 540MHz channel bandwidth, up to 6 mutually independent channels available. With 1.08GHz channel bandwidth, up to 3 mutually independent channels available. Slide 10 Jan 2013 Bo Sun, ZTE/CWPAN
