Current Events (Set 33) 1. “Mistrial: Hung Jury (11-1) Unable to Reach Verdict in Case of First Missing Boy on the Milk Carton Murder. ” Pedro Hernandez confessed to 1979 kidnapping of Etan Patz, but lawyers argued it was false and he is mentally ill. Etan Patz vanished while walking to a school bus stop in New York City in SoHo (lower Manhattan); His body was never found and he was declared legally dead in absentia in 2001

Current Event #2 2. “ Pablo Picasso Painting Sets World Record For Art Sold at Auction: $179.4 Million at Christie’s, NY.” 20 th Century masterpiece, “Women of Algiers” was painted in 1955 in Picasso’s unique abstract cubist style.
