VISUAL FOR ANALYSIS

BACKGROUND INFORMATION PLACE FOUND: WORLD.COM/CATEGORY /CONTRIBUTING- WRITERS/DR-MICHELLE- KMIEC/ WORLD.COM/CATEGORY /CONTRIBUTING- WRITERS/DR-MICHELLE- KMIEC/ BY DR. MICHELLE KMIEC CONTRIBUTING WRITER FOR WAKE UP WORLD. “FOR YEARS, WE WATCHED THE POWER- BROKERS OF GLOBAL GOVERNMENTS TIGHTEN REGULATION IN THE NAME OF “FREEDOM”, TIGHTEN THE CENSORSHIP OF OPINIONS THAT CONTRADICT THEIR AGENDA, AND FEED THE PUBLIC “NEWS” THAT SEEMS INVENTED SOLELY TO MANIPULATE, CONTROL AND INSTILL FEAR. FINALLY, LIKE MANY OF YOU, WE FELT OVERWHELMED, ANGRY AND IN DISBELIEF, AND DECIDED TO STOP WATCHING AND DO SOMETHING POSITIVE IN REPLY. THAT WAS THE DAY THAT WAKE UP WORLD WAS BORN.”

WHAT IS YOUR INITIAL REACTION? MY FIRST REACTION WHEN SEEING THIS PAINTING WAS A SENSE OF DESPERATION AND EMPATHY. I WANTED TO REACH IN AND SAVE THE PERSON THAT WAS DISAPPEARING IN THE EYE BUT KNEW I WAS UNABLE TO HELP. AS I TOOK A LONGER LOOK AND STUDIED THE PICTURE I DEVELOPED SOME KEY THOUGHTS: -DROWNING -HOPELESSNESS -ORDINARY -PURE CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW I CAME UP WITH THESE WORDS AND THEIR IMPORTANCE TO THIS PAINTING?

BLUE EYE COLOR HALO NO VEINS HEAD FADING BACK THIN EYE LASHES SKINNY ARMS GIRL CONTACTS (A GLOSSY COVERING)

SYMBOLISM THE DIFFERENT SHADING OF BLUE IN THE EYE REPRESENTS A BODY OF WATER THAT THE PERSON IS DROWNING IN. THE GOLD RING AROUND THE SOLID BLACK PUPIL SYMBOLIZES THE SUN BEING COVERED UP. IN REMINDS ME OF AN ECLIPSE. SINCE THE BRIGHT COLOR IS BEING BLOCKED IT SYMBOLIZES HOPE BEING COVERED AND OUT OF REACH. THE WHITE AROUND THE PUPIL OF THE EYE HAS NO RED LIKE A NORMAL EYE WOULD NORMALLY SHOW. THIS REPRESENTS THE PURITY OF A YOUNGER GENERATION. THE THIN EYE LASHES THAT ARE DARK BUT OBVIOUSLY DON’T HAVE MAKE UP ON THEM GIVES THE VIEWER THE SENSE THAT THE PERSON IS ORDINARY. THEY AREN’T ALL DAZZLED UP. SINCE THE PERSON “DROWNING” IN THE EYE HAS THIN ARMS AND THE FACE SURROUNDING THE EYE IS SOFT YOU CAN ASSUME THAT THE PERSON I A GIRL AND YOUNG. (DO YOU THINK SHE WAS SAYING GIRLS ARE MORE EASILY MOLDED TO FIT OTHERS REALITIES?) THE OBJECT OVER THE GIRLS EYE LOOKS LIKE A CONTACT BUT REPRESENTS THAT SOMEONE HAS PUT SOMETHING OVER THIS PERSON IN ORDER TO KEEP THEM TRAPPED.

POINT OF VIEW/PERSPECTIVE DR. MICHELLE KMIEC CREATED THIS PIECE TO EXPLAIN THE CONCEPT OF MOLDING YOUR THOUGHTS AND BELIEFS TO SOMEONE ELSE’S IDEA OF WHAT IS OR ISN’T. HER PURPOSE WAS TO CHALLENGE HER AUDIENCE TO LOOK AT HOW THEIR MINDS WORK WHEN IT COMES TO BELIEVING OR NOT BELIEVING THAT SOMETHING EXISTS. THIS PICTURE SHOWS HER POINT OF VIEW ABOUT HOW SHE PERCEIVES OTHERS AS TRAPPED AND IN TURN TORMENTED. SHE BELIEVES THE YOUNGER GENERATION IS BEING FORCED TO COVER UP THEIR TRUE SELVES AND MOLDED INTO WHAT OTHERS BELIEVE IS THE CORRECT WAY TO SEE THINGS.

WHO IS THE INTENDED AUDIENCE? DR. MICHELLE KMIEC’S INTENDED AUDIENCE ARE ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD WHO FEEL SMOTHERED BEHIND OTHERS IDEAS AND WANTS. SHE FOCUSES MORE ON THE YOUNGER GENERATION BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE POWER TO “REBEL” AND STAND UP FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN. DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THIS COULD BE SPEAKING OUT ABOUT OUR GOVERNMENT, PARENTHOOD, OR SOMETHING ELSE? WHY?

WHAT IS THE LOGICAL APPEAL? "LOGOS" IS THE USE OF THE STRATEGIES OF LOGIC TO PERSUADE YOUR AUDIENCE. IF AN STATEMENT ATTEMPTS TO PERSUADE THE AUDIENCE BY MAKING A REASONABLE CLAIM AND OFFERING PROOF IN SUPPORT OF THAT CLAIM (RATHER THAN BY TRYING TO MAKE THEM FEEL CERTAIN EMOTIONS, OR BY MAKING THEM PERCEIVE THE SPEAKER AS CREDIBLE), THEN THAT STATEMENT IS A LOGICAL ARGUMENT. IN THIS PAINTING THE LOGICAL APPEAL IS THAT THE IMAGE LOOKS LIKE AN ACTUAL EYE. IT ALSO SUGGESTS TO PEOPLE THAT THIS HAPPENS IN OUR EVERYDAY WORLD BUT PEOPLES FEELINGS ABOUT HAVING OTHERS IDEAS AND PERSPECTIVES PUSHED UPON THE IS HIDDEN WITHIN THEMSELVES AND ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO OBSERVE CLOSELY CAN SEE IT.

WHAT IS THE ETHICAL APPEAL? "ETHOS" IS USED TO DESCRIBE THE AUDIENCE'S PERCEPTION OF THE RHETOR'S CREDIBILITY OR AUTHORITY. THE AUDIENCE ASKS THEMSELVES, "WHAT DOES THIS PERSON KNOW ABOUT THIS TOPIC?" AND "WHY SHOULD I TRUST THIS PERSON?" THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF ETHOS: DR. MICHELLE KMIEC IS A LICENSED CHIROPRACTOR WHO ALSO HOLDS A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN HUMAN BIOLOGY. SHE IS LIFE-LONG ATHLETE WHO AFTER CURING HERSELF 100% NATURALLY FROM MS AND ANXIETY BECAME AN AVID NUTRITION HEALTH RESEARCHER/PROMOTER. SHE HAS BEEN FEATURED IN MANY HEALTH MAGAZINES, AND HAS BEEN A GUEST ON RADIO TALK SHOWS IN THE USA, CANADA, UNITED KINGDOM, AND AUSTRALIA. SHE IS THE AUTHOR OF HEALTHCARE FREEDOM REVOLUTION: EXPOSING THE LIES, DECEIT AND GREED OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION, FOUNDER OF ONLINE HOLISTIC HEALTH WEBSITE/BLOG AND ITS EXCLUSIVE HOLISTIC COMMUNITY, THE TRIAD OF LIFE, AND A CONTRIBUTING WRITER FOR SEVERAL POPULAR INFORMATIVE HEALTH WEBSITE/BLOGS. - SEE MORE AT: BOUT-DR-KMIEC.HTML#STHASH.LYEMCQ02.DPUF BOUT-DR-KMIEC.HTML#STHASH.LYEMCQ02.DPUF

WHAT IS THE EMOTIONAL APPEAL? "PATHOS" IS USED TO DESCRIBE THE RHETOR'S ATTEMPT TO APPEAL TO "AN AUDIENCE'S SENSE OF IDENTITY, THEIR SELF- INTEREST, AND THEIR EMOTIONS." IF THE RHETOR CAN CREATE A COMMON SENSE OF IDENTITY WITH THEIR AUDIENCE, THEN THE RHETOR IS USING A PATHETIC APPEAL. THIS PICTURE IS DRIPPING WITH EMOTIONAL APPEAL. THE PERSON TRAPPED IN THE EYE CAUSES PEOPLE TO WANT TO CHANGE THEMSELVES AND PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING TO OTHERS.

WHO/WHAT IS LEFT OUT OF THE ADVERTISEMENT? IN THE PICTURE LEFT OUT SHOWING THE PERSONS CAUSE OF GRIEF. THIS ADDS TO HER ABILITY TO CONVEY MULTIPLE INTERPRETATIONS.

THEME, TONE, MOOD, AND/OR PURPOSE THEME: TO SHOW HOW OPPRESSION AND FORCING OTHERS TO SUCCUMB TO A CERTAIN VOICE TAKES AWAY THEIR OWN VOICE AND CAUSES THEM TO FEEL TRAPPED. TONE: DESPERATE AND LONGING MOOD: DEPRESSING THE OVER ALL PURPOSE OF THIS PICTURE IS TO INSPIRE PEOPLE NOT TO LET THEMSELVES GET INFLUENCED IN A WAY THAT SMOTHERS OUT THEIR OWN VOICE AND OPINIONS. IT ALSO IS TRYING TO PERSUADE PEOPLE NOT TO PUSH THEIR IDEAS UPON PEOPLE TO THE POINT OF MAKING THEM FEEL TRAPPED, LIKE THE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO BELIEVE THE SAME THING.

WHAT PEOPLE SEE IN US IS WHAT DEFINES US AS OPPOSED TO WHAT WE SEE IN OURSELVES.
