A Lesson from the life of Daniel Daniel 6:1-16

Searching for Integrity Integrity is one of the words people look up most frequently in the online version of Merriam Webster’s Dictionary. It means: –firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values –an unimpaired condition –the quality or state of being complete or undivided

King Darius’ Search for Integrity The goal of Darius was to set three governors over the kingdom so that he should “have no damage.” (Daniel 6:1-2; Romans 13:10) Daniel had an “excellent spirit” and so the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm (Daniel 6:3)

The Search of Daniel’s Enemies to Find Fault They found Daniel to be faithful in his work (Daniel 6:4; Proverbs 20:6) They could find no error or fault Their only hope was to find something objectionable in Daniel’s keeping of God’s law (Daniel 6:5-7, 10)

Daniel’s Integrity Daniel’s integrity is revealed in his consistent walk with God (Daniel 6:10-11; Psalm 55:17) The fruit of that walk included… –Faithfulness –An Excellent Spirit –Devotion to devotion

“When you’re faced with a busy day with lots of pressure, save precious time by skipping your prayers and bible reading.” --Satan

How to Develop Integrity Three lessons from Daniel’s life 1.You will not always get what you think you deserve from people or from life, so don’t expect it. 2.You will always get what is best from God, so don’t doubt it. 3.Your ability to handle both is directly related to your faith in God and the integrity with which you serve Him.

Integrity in a Christian is… Satan’s worst fear. The Christian’s surest footing (Psalm 26:1; 25:21; Proverbs 10:9) The worlds’ best hope of seeing the truth (Titus 2:7-8; 1 Peter 2:12)

Do you still hold fast to your integrity? -- Job 2:9
