Attend Classes Always attend the first class –Meet instructor and classmates –Take notes –Learn about resources –Receive important handouts Make it a priority to attend every class Learning Objective 2.1©2008 LWW

Get to Know the Instructor On the first day of class, you can observe the instructor Understand the instructor’s personality Identify the instructor’s teaching style Learning Objective 2.1©2008 LWW

Learn about Resources Campus probably has many resources available –Computers and labs –Learning labs and tutors –Aid for specific needs and physical disabilities Learning Objective 2.1©2008 LWW

Collect Handouts Instructor usually distributes syllabus, test dates, assignments Pick up a copy of each handout Record details about Web content and log-in information for the course Determine what elements (tests, essays) are most important in the course Learning Objective 2.1©2008 LWW
