Fall 2009

 Multimedia Design—formerly Web Design  Personal and Business Finance  Workforce Essentials—formerly Administrative Office Management

 I am a graduate of CCHS.  I am married to Mr. Coan who teaches in the 7 th grade.  I have two children  Ashley is married to Ryan Keenum and she teaches at Leighton Elementary School—5 th grade.  Jeremy is 20 years old and is attending Auburn University to become an Ag Teacher.  I attend Leighton Baptist Church  I live in Leighton  I love to shop, go on trips, and spend time with my family and friends.

 I have been teaching for 25 years!!  I love CCHS and my students.  I will promise to give you my very best in class each day and I expect to receive the same promise in return.

 Your own flash drive—at least 1G  A two pocket folder  $15 class fee

 All students are highly encouraged to join FBLA.  The dues are $15.  We do lots of great things such as field trips, community service projects, Retired Teacher Luncheon, Winter Gala, plus MUCH more~!  You have until September 1 st to join.

 This past summer three FBLA members competed in Anaheim, California representing CCHS FBLA and Alabama FBLA.  You could be next!!!

 All students in this class should have already completed Business Computer Essentials (BTE).  We will build on what you have already learned in that class.

 My grades come from a variety of sources  Test Grades  Daily Grades  Assignments  Class Projects  Employability Skills  Current Events  Portfolio

 Be Responsible...  Be in your seat when the bell rings  Have needed supplies  NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THIS CLASSROOM.  Leave your workstation clean at the end of the period. I’m not your mother and I don’t want to clean up after you.  When you miss class it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed and to make it up. You have three days to makeup your work before you receive a zero for the assignment.

 Be Respectful...  Be respectful of property in the classroom  Be respectful to others in the classroom—we are a family in this classroom and we will treat each other with the greatest respect  Be respectful to visitors in the classroom—We will have many different speakers and visitors in our classroom. Treat each with the upmost respect. This means paying attention when we have a speaker and being quiet when a visitor enters the room.

 Be Resourceful...  Always have your needed supplies in class.  If you don’t have it—see if you can borrow it from someone.  If someone needs help be willing to help them. We will all help each other in this class and follow the golden rule—”Do unto others and you would have them do unto you”.

 This is a career technical course in which you should learn a lot about working and get a lot of work experience. I hope this is a very enjoyable course for you. I feel that everyone has the potential to be successful in my classroom. I want you to leave my classroom with the skills necessary to be a great employee. I expect the very best of you and I will give you my best in return.

 In order to be successful in my classroom and in the workforce you must have the following:  A great attitude  Be willing to work  Have great attendance  Be on time  Be willing to give 100%

 I don’t expect to have any discipline problems. If we do have problems the following will be used.  1 st Offense—I will have a conference with you about the behavior  2 nd Offense—I will have a second conference with you plus call your parent  3 rd Offense—After school detention  4 th Offense—Referral to office.

 For information on this class or any other class at CCHS—go to and click on school staff. This will give you valuable information about what is going on in each teachers classroom.

 Internet permission form  Safety pledge

 I look forward to having you in my classroom. If you have any problems come to me and let me know. We will work together to make this the best class that you have ever had!  Good luck and get ready to work and learn!!!
