Desirable Weight and Body Composition 1.Desirable weight – Weight which is healthful for a person Factors include: age, height, gender, body frame, basal metabolic rate, percentage of muscle tissue, and activity level. 2. Basal Metabolic Rate – The number of calories the body uses at rest.

Weight Management 3. Weight Management – Diet and exercise plan to maintain or attain a desirable weight and body composition.

Body Mass Index 4.Body Mass Index (BMI) – Compares a persons’ weight in relation to their height BMI= weight(kg) (height(m)) 2 weight(lb) X 703 (height(in)) 2
