Snail Dish Although snails or escargot have been eaten commonly in France it has been eaten for thousands of years by cultures such as the Roman and Greek possibly.

Frog Legs Salad Frog legs have been eaten for hundreds of years. A variety of cultures, including our own, has consumed and still consumes frog legs today. People have has frog legs in their diets since the early first centuries and in some cultures it has turned into national delicacies

Frog Legs Although they are said to be quite tasty, since people have started eating frog legs, there have been significant declines in the amphibian population.

Chinese Flag China and the Aztecs was the first common people in the early first century AD to eat frog legs. Monks started eating too much meat and were gaining weight.

American Flag It is believed that edible snails were brought to America in the 1850’s and today the United States has the most recipes for escargot in the world. Millions of pounds of escargot are consumed every year all around the world by many different countries.

Escargot There is an official day celebrating escargot which is May 24th the National Escargot Day. Escargot is commonly associated with France because in France because it is eaten in such large volumes but it is not really of French origin.

Companies get their frogs from either out of the wild, or are raised in farms. Farmed frogs have very high rates chytrid infection, which is a disease that causes rapid deaths in amphibian populations.

Wild Frog When capturing frogs from the wild, it may not seem like a big deal at the time. But, several species of frogs have gone nearly extinct and have still not fully recovered to this day.

Diseased snails Snails are unsafe to eat unless cooked right or else whatever consumes them may get infected with parasites. Only certain snails can be eaten not all of them are edible. Snails are a type of mollusk just like calms are served in restaurants just like them.
