Chapter 15 October Sky Gracie Peterson Mitch Roland Garrett Richard

Timeline Quentin, Sonny, O’Dell, Sherman, and Roy Lee are the only people in Coalwood that make rockets. This makes trouble come their way. 1.Mr. Hartsield and state troopers accuse to Quentin and Sonny, and the rest of the boys about the rocket they found after the forest fire. 2.They are told they are getting put under arrest. Mr. Hartsield says that other boys are involved too and he will call them. 3.Quentin proved that the aeronautical flair cause the forest fire, and not the rocket, so the boys have no charges pressed against them. 4.Mr. Hartsield recommends a calculus class to Quentin and Sonny that Big Creek offers. 5.Mr. Turner calls Sonny to his class to discuss the calculus class and says, "There are only six spots, and seven signed up.” 6.Dorothy Plunk got into the class, instead of Sonny getting in. 7.Many coaches start coming to Coalwood to recruit Jim. They come to the house to talk to him and his parents. 8.Homer offers Sonny to go talk to Mr. Hartsfield to get into the class, but Sonny says no. 9.Homer was having fun with all the college recruiters. 10.Sonny feels that his father doesn’t like him, more and more. 11.Sonny walks up the stairs and looks for a book to read. 12.He finds an advanced mathematics self tutor book that his Dad had used but never told him about it. 13.Sonny decides to teach him self using the book and takes it into his room. 14.Sonny remember the quote that Reverend Lanier said, “When a door is shut on or faces, we shouldn’t worry, because someday, if we’re properly patient, God just might open another.” 15.Then he remembers his mom’s addition to it, “If a door closes, find yourself a window and climb through it.”
