Native XML – One Definition The XML document is considered the basic unit of storage Database is DTD- and Schema-independent Database uses an XML-specific query language, to support the hierarchical nature of XML documents

How do applications use XML? Managing documents Finding documents Reusing content

Adobe XMP Metadata XMP is based on the W3C's Resource Description Framework specification Enables XML metadata packet to be embedded within files Typical uses of XMP: PDF files; image formats (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG)

Adobe XMP Metadata TEXTML is capable of storing and indexing binary documents that contain XMP metadata TEXTML extracts and analyzes the XMP metadata packet; based upon the database’s indexing, content is extracted to the appropriate indexes
