Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) By: Jon Brand, Cole Chumney Jessica McCoy, Gavin White

What is a Genetically Modified Organism A GMO is when a gene from one organism is purposely moved to another organism in a laboratory.

Crops that are genetically modified Wheat Maize/Corn Rices Barley Beans Rye Other Grains

Animals that can be genetically modified Steer (horns/muscle production) Poultry (immunization/efficiency) Sheep (wool production) Horses (stamina/speed)

How do GMOs get into your food or body GMOs can get into the food you eat through: Soak Seeding Spreading of the chemical Injection They can get into to your body through, Eating Injections Through water bottles

Advantages of GMOs They can create crops that are more resistant to weeds, pests, and other diseases Makes for more efficient use of land Cuts down on herbicide use Longer shelf life makes for easier shipping

Advantages Last 17 years the adoption of gmo technology has resulted in significant socio- economic benefits and advantages for farmers in developing and developed countries.

Cons More than 60 countries around the world to not consider GMOs safe. Most animal societies would call GMO’s inhumane True grown crop farmers are losing profits due to cheaper “plastic” food

What ingredients have GMO GMOs have tricked many people by placing them into the ingredients of products like. Amino Acids Vitamin C Flavoring Sodium Citrate High Fructose Corn Syrup

What are the Risks to You and Your Family 80% of North American Foods are GMOs. The government are using its people as a test for GMOs. GMO foods have many high risks ingredients and chemicals. GMOs are always in your house from breakfast to dinner.

What are GMO defects Birth defects Brain and heart defects cancers Dietary issues Animal defects ( 2 headed cow)
