Question 4 how did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages Jack riddell

Research and planning stage Youtube- YouTube was really useful in my research and planning stage because it allowed me to find dystopian film trailers so I could then get a better understanding of what I needed to do for my own film trailer. Blog/Moodle- the blog was helpful because it allowed me too put up all my stuff on so I could look back at it and see what I need to do more for my research and planning. Moodle was also usuful for my reasearch and planning stage because it gave me lots of information on what to do next and what to inclued in my research and planning. PowerPoint/Word- these were the most helpful because they allowed me to present my work in an organised way and also helped me to get all my ideas down therefore, speeding up the research and planning stage. The Internet- the internet was very useful because it allowed me to go on to websites such as YouTube, blog and the moodle. Because of this I could do more in depth research about my dystopian genre and also find music and prop ideas for the planning stage. Incompetech- this helped my planning because we could listen to a lot of free non- diegetic sounds and pick out the ones that would go well with my film trailer and also it had a wide range of sounds therefore giving us more of an option.

Production stage Digital camera- the camera was very effective because it allowed us to do lots of different shot and we could experiment with different lighting and focus. The only problem we faced with the camera was that the battery would run out and also when it rained we can to try and protect it from getting damaged Adobe Premiere pro- this was very useful for the production stage because it allowed us to save all of our footage onto it and then start to edit the shoot and add effects to it how ever we wanted. We also took screen shots to put on our blogs to clearly show some of the process we did. Adobe photo shop- this helped us create our magazine cover and the film poster for our marketing campaign. It was very effective because it made us able to put photos together and titles along the photos to make it more visual for the viewer. Dafont- this website was useful in the production stage because it allowed use to find the right kind of font we wanted to go into our film trailer to give it more of the dystopian feel. It also helped with finding fonts for the magazine cover and film poster therefor it was very effective.

Evaluation We presented out work using digital technologies such as PowerPoint, Word, Blog and through a directors commentary. These digital technologies improved my presentation of my work by making it look more organised and helped format all my work into easy to find and look at places through links on my blog. I used Youtube to do a lot of thing such as research for dystopian films and also interviews with directors and the actors in the dystopian films. I also used it to display my film trailer so I could get feedback on it and so any could watch it therefore making it very effective and vital for my film trailer. I did not use social networking site to gain feedback or to post my film trailer on, this is something that I would do next time. I did research into film promotion on social networking sites which showed me it is one of the cheapest and best ways to publicize films.
