 Main responsibilities ( continued ):  organize and guide the exploitation, conservation and utilizing of climatic resources;  organize and guide the preparedness against lightning strike and other weather-related disastrous events;  most importantly, to participate in the decision-making process of governments at different levels for social and economic development.  One of Regional Meteorological Centers in China responsible for technical guidance and coordination within East China region, which covers the provinces of Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian and some other cities.
