Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.— Amen.
Memory Verse Phil 2:5, “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”
John 15:16 Predestined to Glorify God!
13. Knowledge of Bible doctrine is essential to fulfilling our election to privilege. Titus 1:1
14. Since the believer has been elected to privilege, he must function under the Royal Family Honor Code. Eph 4:1-3
15. “Faith” is the ultimate requisite of the elect. Titus 1:1; cf. James 2:5.
16. Believers are commanded to make their calling and election a reality. 2 Peter 1:10 ‑ 11
a. How do you make your election a spiritual reality?
Through P.M.A. of election and God’s Decree. You use the privacy of your priesthood; you learn the doctrine; you learn the mechanics.
b. Election is only the potential for impact on history. By the daily function of GAP, we make our calling and election a reality when we advance to spiritual maturity.
17. Election is a reason for thanksgiving for others. 2 Thes 2:13
2 Thes 2:13, “But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.”
John 15:16, “…that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain,…”
God has laid out a plan of ministry and service that is designed to result in effectiveness. Compare with 1 Cor 12:4-7
The purpose for their election and appointment.
HINA Subordinating Conjunction that introduces a purpose clause, “in order that.”
Three Parts to the purpose clause all in the Present, Active, Subjunctive, to emphasize continuance, which means “keep on doing …..”.
The three elements are arraigned as Subject, Object, Predicate = “going out is for the sub-purpose of bearing fruit and that fruit is eternal in nature.”
Purpose #1:
HUPAGO - Present, Active, Subjunctive, 2 nd Person, Plural = “Keep on going out under the authority of God’s Word.” Indicating potential based on the volitional responsibility of the believer.
Purpose #2: KARPOS - “fruit”. PHERO - Present, Active, Subjunctive, Second Person, Plural, “to bear, carry, or bring forth”.
This fruit bearing can be either internal to your own soul or external for the benefit of others. Cf vs 11 with
Purpose #3: KARPOS - “fruit”, (it should be everlasting).
Possessive Genitive of SU = “of you all or your”, indicating that the fruit produced is that of the disciples’ even though they are under the authority of God and His Word.
This indicates the righteousness and justice of God in rewarding the believer at the BEMA seat of Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 3:10-15; 2 Cor 5:10
Our Divine Good Production belongs to us and we are qualified for rewards as a result.
MENO - Present, Active, Subjunctive, “to stay, abide, remain”. The idea of something that remains or is everlasting. 3 rd Person Singular, - “he, she or it,” referencing the “fruit” itself.
Once you accumulate Bible doctrine in the soul you then begin to accumulate dividends from that doctrine.
