Hiking Photo Journal Summer Semester 2014

Bell Canyon This hike was fairly easy. The only hard part was that we got there late and had to catch up. There was a reservoir and some very pretty waterfalls all along the trail. It started out in a suburban area and had a good view of the valley almost the whole hike.

Grandeur Peak Hiking to Grandeur Peak was fairly difficult mainly because it takes so long to get to the peak. We did not make it in the time that we had. We also found that it can be helpful to bring a map so that you don't take the wrong trail. Staying on the right trail is definitely much easier. Once you get to the switchbacks the view is spectacular and it just gets better the farther up you go.

Mount Aire There was a lot of wildlife on this hike. Not only did we see a moose but there was also a lot of birds and squirrels. It was really steep. So even though it was short it was hard. Overall it was a great hike

Neff’s Canyon For a long time, the trail was in the sun with no shade so it was really hot. Once there was some cover however, it was great.

Desolation Trail This hike was the best because it was so rainy. The fog was so pretty. There were a lot of switch backs and it wasn't too long.

White Pine I loved this hike. I saw three deer. There Was a great view throughout the hike. It Wasn’t too steep and there was a cool Breeze so it wasn’t hot either.
