MMIRS 7 Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics Magellan SAC 9/05 LCO Issues MMIRS instrument weight 3244 lb. – can be lifted by crane in dome. MMIRS weight at Cass (w/ adapter, &c) is 4471 lb. – also acceptable. SAO & LCO collaborating on ops plans for prepping, mounting, operating and (if necessary) repair LCO – clean room essential component. Expect to refine ops plan during October 2005 engineering.
