Serving God’s Way 2 Corinthians 4:1-7 Intro Worship is a posture of life that takes as its primary purpose the understanding of what it really means to love and serve God. ~ Ravi Zacharias

2 Cor 4:1 Truth: Every work environment/every ministry mercy is needed. 2 Cor 4:2 Truth: Some things have to be rejected.

2 Cor 4:2 Truth: Some things have to be rejected. Three points that Paul makes: 1. Things hidden because of shame. 2. Walking in craftiness. 3. Adulterating God ’ s Word.

2 Cor 4:3,4 Truth: There is real opposition to the gospel. 2 Cor 4:5 Truth: We are all called to be bond-Servants for Jesus.

2 Cor 4:6 Paul is connecting with the three cultures who are the primary recipients of the letter: Light — Hebrews Knowledge — Greek Glory — Romans. And helping them see that Jesus is the light and the knowledge of the glory of God.

Three warnings The desire to be … … Spectacular. … self-sufficient or self-reliant. … powerful and in control. Perhaps it is that desire to be spectacular, self-sufficient, or powerful that offers an easy substitute for the hard task of love.

Application Four Truths … Three Warnings … Two Take Aways From 2 Cor 4:5 the words of our Lord in Matthew 20:26-28 Serving God ’ s way is the essence of Jesus ’ ministry.
