A: Community Health Allied Health Professional: A large number or a group of people other than medical practitioners and nurses. Who are the groups work in Allied Health Professional? 1. Physiotherapists (Physios): They help people to move by getting them to do exercises or by treating their body with heat or massage – treatment by manipulating muscles and joints with the hands. 2. Occupational therapists (OTs): A group of people that help disables to perform tasks at home and at work. 3. Social workers: A group of people that help others to solve their social problems. 4. Chiropodists: Or podiatrists, a group of people that treat conditions affecting feet.

B: Technicians Technician: People who work with scientific equipment. eg: Radiographers (X-ray technicians) Ambulance Technician: Those who work in the emergency medicine service. Paramedic: They are ambulance technicians with advanced qualifications.

C: Prosthetists and Orthotists Prosthetists and Orthotists: They provide care for any one who needs an artificial limb (a prosthesis) Prosthetisits: They provide artificial replacements for patients who have had an amputation or were born without a limb. Orthotists: They provide a range of splints and other devices to aid movement, correct deformity from an abnormal development of part of the body, for example club foot (talipes), and relieve pain. Orthosis: A device to support or control part of the body. Rehabilitation: They help patients return to normal life and work after treatment.

D: Opticians Opticians: They test eyesight and prescribe glasses (spectacles, contact lenses) when necessary. Eye test includes: 1. Measuring intraocular pressure (pressure of fluid inside the eye) 2. Retina Eye disease (glaucoma)  refer them  GP GP  refer them  ophthalmologist A doctor who specializes in diseases of the eye.
