The evil Amulius is now king, but to ensure he keeps his crown, he forces Numitor’s daughter, Rhea Silva to become a Vestal Virgin. What is a Vestal Virgin? A priestess to the goddess of the hearth and home, Vesta. The main job of these maidens was to keep Vesta’s flame eternally lit.

Mars (god of war) and Rhea Silva ended up having twin sons… Romulus and Remus

Amulius orders servant to kill babies… Instead of directly killing the babies, the servant put the boys in a basket to float down the Tiber River…

Thankfully, the babies floated onto the shore and were greeted with help…

She-wolf took care of Romulus and Remus.

Finally, a shepherd, named Faustulus, found the boys and raised them as his own children. Romulus and Remus grew up to be strong, honorable shepherds in the fields outside Alba Longa.

Romulus and Remus kill Amulius and restore the kingdom to Numitor. Having learned about their grandfather, Numitor, the boys seek revenge for their family. Romulus and Remus kill Amulius and restore the kingdom to Numitor.
