How are these collected in residential homes? Paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and tins are collected through the local council service and taken to a waste management site for further processing. Residents can also take their recycling to local recycling banks.
Commercial recycling This material comes from companies which are products that are left over from their processing items. The material will be collected and taken to a waste management site for further processing.
Hazardous waste These items are materials that can be a harm to humans and the environment. Samples of these are: Asbestos Car batteries Lighting tubes Paint Used motor oil Solvents (glue) Tar Such items can only be processed by a waste management company that has been registered with the Environmental Agency and carrying a waste license. Any company moving or receiving any of this type of material must have a waste carriers license. It is illegal for any movements of these materials without this license.
