©2012 RAY SVENSON CONSULTING, INC. 2 IMPLEMENTATION EXERCISE Questions: 1.What kind of reaction would you get from you executive community if you presented a multi-year timeline like the one in the case study? 2.What would you do if we can't wait three years to get these results? 3.What would you do if you only got enough money to do half of the things in the plan? 4.What kind of an implementation management structure would be required to manage a 3-year strategic roll-out like this? PHASE 5: Implementation Planning

©2012 RAY SVENSON CONSULTING, INC. 3 BARRIERS AND OBSTACLES People can be reluctant to spend the time required to do it well Teams can fail to set up an implementation system assigning roles and responsibilities and adequate resources People are not experienced at turning a high-level system architecture into detailed design and project plan A “system engineer” needs to be designated to make sure all the pieces match and fit together as they are being developed and to make sure the interfaces get worked among the various teams PHASE 5: Implementation Planning
