Priority areas were determined by…  Parkland School Division Initiatives  AISI Cycle 5  Muir Lake School Educational Plan & Initiatives  Staff input on PD planning day

Learning Goals:  All students are able to assess their learning and develop an improvement plan  All students are problem solvers and critical thinkers  All students gain the skills to be successful independent learners in their learning environment  All students are motivated to learn

Learning Goals:  Teachers are embedding assessment AS learning in their teaching practice  A common language around assessment AS learning exists in Parkland School Division  A common language around critical thinking exists in Parkland School Division  Students are well prepared for life and work environments

Implementation is embedded within Muir Lake School PD plan:  Learning Coach Support  Critical Thinking Lead Teacher Release Time  Lesson Study Model – teachers collaborate in small group (team teaching)  External PD Providers (workshops offered by school, learning services, etc.)  School-Based or Inter-School PLC Work – meet regularly in structured groups to work on self- determined activities

The main focus/priority areas for Muir Lake School are…  Critical Thinking  Technology Integration  Inclusion  Leadership, Citizenship, & Social Responsibility  Best Practices (SmartLearning, assessment, etc.)

 Each priority area will have a Collaborate, Create, Learn (CCL) Team focused on advancing and sharing work in that area within our school  Each staff member will participate as a member of a CCL Team  The objectives for each priority will be determined through discussion and planning of each CCL Team  Each PD day, time will be allocated to meet as a CCL team to discuss, plan, and create learning opportunities  Team members are also encouraged to collaborate either formally or informally to advance the work being done in the priority areas
