First phase of the test, test takers are asked to use a crayon to draw pictures, a house, a tree, and a person. The second phase of the test, test takers are asked to use a pencil to draw the pictures. Each drawing is done on a separate piece of paper and the test taker is asked to draw as accurately as possible. HTP Administration NEXT
Upon completion of the drawings, test takers are asked 60 questions about their drawings. Some of the examples are located on the right. HTP Administration NEXT
Three assumptions are also considered as the basic interpreting guidelines for HTP. The house figure reflects the test- taker’s home life and relationships with the family. The tree figure reveals the experiences of the test-taker. The person figure describes the test-taker’s relationships with other people, aside from his or her family. HTP Administration BACK
The HTP test has received criticisms and questions. The test has very little support for reliability and validity. HTP Reliability and Validity BACK
