9/29/14Charbel Najm It's easy to forget about computer security. Unfortunately, by the time you realize there's a problem with your computer, you could be in deep trouble. Here are some things you can (and should) do to stay safe. 1.Use a Firewall. A firewall is a piece of software or hardware that sits between your computer and the network and only allows certain types of data to cross. 2.Scan For Viruses Sometimes, typically via or other means, viruses are able to cross the firewall and end up on your computer anyway. A virus scanner will locate and remove them from your hard disk. 3.Scan For Spyware Spyware is similar to viruses in that they arrive unexpected and unannounced and proceed to do something undesired. 4.Always keep your computer up to date with software updates. Software vulnerabilities that malware exploits usually already have fixes available by the time the virus reaches a computer. Updates ensure that your computer will always have the latest bug fixes and patches. 5.Change your password once a month. Make sure you have a strong password. Using the same password for everything is a bad idea.

9/29/14Charbel Najm Ergonomics is the efficiency of a person in their work environment. Ergonomics are important for both the employer and the employee. Improved productivity and quality are results of good ergonomics, this also indirectly decreases costs for the employer. Ergonomics also improves employee health and decreases fatigue. If an employee does not Experience discomfort during their workday, it can reduce turnover, decrease absenteeism, improve morale and increase employee involvement. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) affect the muscles, nerves and tendons. Work related MSDs (including those of the neck, upper extremities and low back) are one of the leading causes of workday injury and illness. Work related MSDs can be prevented with Ergonomics. This helps decrease the number and severity of Work-related MSD.

9/29/14Charbel Najm Under Canadian law is file sharing legal or illegal? File Sharing is legal in Canada, and has been criticized for it. In 2009, Canada's music sales went down by 7.4%, second only to Spain, according to a report released in April 28, 2010 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. The official synopsis read: “Canada, practically the only government of a developed country not to have implemented international copyright treaties agreed over a decade ago, is a major source of the world's piracy problem. A disproportionate number of illegal sites are hosted on Canadian soil.” In my opinion, file sharing should be legal, but credit should be given to the original owner.
